Welcome to Itty Bitty Kitty, Bay Ridge, Brooklyn
IBKNY is a small, community-based organization focused on rescuing cats and kittens from the streets of South Brooklyn and finding them their furever homes!
Because we are a small, volunteer-based organization, we are not a 501(c)(3), so financial donations are appreciated but not tax-deductible. But there are many ways you can support us! See how below.
You can support IBKNY by purchasing items from our Amazon Wish List! We update this list regularly, and all items directly support the cats in our care. Visit our wish list and support us today!
We are always in need of food (wet and dry), litter, and toys for the cats and kittens in our care. If you would like to make a donation of food, litter, or toys, or other items such as insulated winter shelters for the outdoor community cats we support, contact George.
IBKNY is not a 501(c)(3) organization, so financial donations are not tax deductible. However, we appreciate financial gifts to help us cover veterinary care (we ensure all cats and kittens in our care receive all vaccinations, get treatment for fleas, worms, illness, or infection, are spayed and neutered or receive any other vet care they need). These costs add up, and while we work with a community of excellent local vets who offer IBKNY discounts for our work, money is always helpful. To make a financial contribution, contact George or you can send your contribution directly to George via Venmo: @George-Politis-2.
IBKNY, like all local TNR and Rescu groups, can always use good, committed fosters to help us socialize and care for the cats and kittens we rescue and give them the best chance at finding furever homes. If you would like to open your home to help any of our cats or kittens, please contact George.
Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, IBKNY is not seeking volunteers at this time. We hope to resume accommodating volunteer support as soon as it is safe for all to do so. Please check back!
We want to thank all of Itty Bitty Kitty NY's donors, volunteers, fosters, and other supporters. Without you, we can't make a difference in the lives of the community cats of Bay Ridge.
Our first encounter with this sweet little kitten was when a local Bay Ridge resident called us to ask for our help in rescuing an injured kitten who she saw limping around on her block.
We later learned that this kitten and her siblings where trying to survive by breaking into the garbage cans of a neighbor who was shooing them away!
That's when we came in and scooped up this little sweetie pie and her siblings and saw that she is missing one of her back feet. Upon consultation with our vet we learned that thankfully this was not the result of an injury, but rather she was born this way. We lovingly gave her the name Gimpy.
But this girl deserves a BETTER NAME! Help us rename her! Find us on Facebook @ittybittykittynybayridge and share a name or vote for another!
Gimpy is a 4 month old kitty, she's fully vetted and she walks and runs like a cat with all four feet on the ground! This girl has great kitten energy, she runs and jumps and plays, and has no idea that she's any different than other kittens her age.
Give little Gimpy a chance at growing from little kitten who could to the full grown cat of you dreams!
Fill out our adoption application and don't forget to mention Gimpy!
